I am thrilled to be hosting a series of informal get-togethers for creative women within the South West.

This is not just another business networking meeting – it is a support group; it is a place to share ideas, worries and successes, and it is a chance to have conversations with other like-minded creative women who are involved or running their own creative businesses, just like you.

Whether you are an artist, crafter, maker or designer you are welcome to come along and drink tea, eat cake, and natter with the rest of us! Whether it be good, bad or ugly we want to be able to help each other with the highs and lows of running your own creative business.

Using all my first hand experience built up over the last 7 years I now want to pass that knowledge onto others. Each month I will have speakers from all areas of business, whether it be advice on photography, writing a press release or approaching galleries, I want to teach all those running a creative business how to flourish. I also invite creative women to share their stories with you.

I have been fortunate enough to have some fantastic Inspirational Women speaking at my events on a range of subjects – including; Kirsty Elson Designs, Gill Donnell, Angie Spurgeon, Rachael Rowe, Claire Read, Andie Stansell, Suzanne McQueenie, Liz Oram and Lyndsey James.

I believe it is fundamentally important to surround yourself with like-minded people, both online and offline, and these creative women groups are a perfect outlet for this. Support and guidance from others are essential when working by yourself in a creative industry to develop your confidence and knowledge!

I am also running some ‘coffee catchups’ every couple of weeks – these are a chance to have a coffee and a chat with others. Unlike the networking meetings, there will be no designated speakers or formal structure. It will be us, a pot of coffee and a few comfy chairs. I am hoping it will be more of an opportunity to get to know each other and share ideas about what you are up to, or just a chance to get away from the computer/sewing machine/oven and out into the ‘real’ world!
